University of Michigan Health Psychiatry Service

The University of Michigan Health Psychiatry Service offers a comprehensive approach to mental health care through an inter-collaborative team consisting of psychiatrists, medical residents, social workers, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. Our services encompass various aspects of psychiatric care with a focus on management of psychiatric medications.  We prioritize patient education and management of medication side effects, fostering informed decision-making and improved treatment outcomes. Other services include pharmacogenetic pre-test consultations and test result reviews. This referral-based clinic collaborates closely with referring providers to deliver holistic and patient-centered care. Additionally, we provide opportunities for pharmacy students and residents, including PharmD P4 APPE students, PGY1 residents, and PGY2 residents, to gain valuable experience in psychiatric pharmacy practice, further contributing to the quality and effectiveness of our services.
